Mrs. Spann is the mother to Nia(11), Mia(11), Liara (6), and Princeton (4), and they all reside in Moncks Corner, SC, with her fantastic husband, Terry Spann Jr. As a public school teacher Mrs. Spann saw the need to be and do more for the families that she served. Traveling nationwide and internationally helped her realize that the children in her community may only get this opportunity if they received an adequate education. As a graduate of a historically black college and university (HBCU), she noticed an apparent disconnect in the curriculums promoting black excellence in the k-12 system. Not only was there a disconnect for African American children there was a disconnect for all children that didn't fit the standard mode of learning. Through an emphasis on student engagement,  technology, art, black history, math, and family engagement, she hopes to offer alternative learning options for students and change the trajectory of entire families. Mrs. Spann aims to identify her students' unique gifts and talents and help their families understand their vital role in their child's educational journey!
